This is one of those museums that I really did not know much about until our visit. I was pleasantly surprised to find it was a great visit. The Museum was packed with historical exhibits.

The Finance Corps Museum transferred from the Army Finance Center, Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana, to Fort Jackson in 1995 with the U.S. Army Finance School. It is the historical repository for artifacts documenting the history of the Finance Corps from its birth in 1775 to present. The museum preserves branch-related historical memorabilia and provides interpretive displays representative of the history of the Finance Corps. The museum supports the training and professional development needs for Soldiers affiliated with the Finance Corps to encourage a better understanding of their branch values and contributions to the history of the Army.

The museum is dedicated to furthering the educational needs and interests of the Fort Jackson community and the public. It is co-located with the U.S. Army Adjutant General's Corps Museum. Unfortunately, the Adjutant General's Corps Museum was having lighting issues and we were not able to get any quality pictures. Hopefully, next visit we can document this museum.

For those of you not familiar with the United States Army Finance Corps, it is a combat service support (CSS) branch of the United States Army. The Finance Corps is the successor to the old Pay Department, which was created in June 1775. The Finance Department was created by law on 1 July 1920. It became the Finance Corps in 1950 and is responsible for financial operations, most notably payroll and resource management. It is one of the smallest branch of the Army.
